Hymns
The
church I go to blasts the simple choruses
on
drums, guitars, and piano amplified to the nth.
I
grew my hair past my ears to cover my earplugs.
The
worship team leader knows few hymns.
So
at home for exercise I walk up and down the hall
with
an old hymn book singing all the songs I know,
savoring
the words that enrich my faith in the triune God.
